Lebanon Explosions: A Three-way Message
Today's explosions took place close to Bteghrine and Bekfayya. Bteghrine is where Elias el Murr comes from; Bekfayya is where the Gemayel family dwells.
The message could not be any clearer:
--To the citizens taking part in tomorrow's demostration commemorating the assasination of Rafik Hariri: Stay at home.
--To Elias elMurr, the minister of defence who was the main figure to declare that the weapons confiscated by the Lebanese army will not be returned to Hizbullah: Don't forget what we can do to you. You got off the hook once, but we are still very close, and we can hit hard.
--To Amin Gemayel, father of Pierre Gemayyel, who was assasinated not long ago. Gemayel the father just came back from a visit to the United States which gained the local media's attention due to the warm welcome he received, especially by G. W. Bush: Be careful what you say and what you do. You can go and meet presidents and leaders, but nothing can protect you here at home.
